The Get Reading Right Books
Get Reading Right publishes fully decodable synthetic phonics books which are fast, effective and efficient. They can be used for guided reading, individually, or used at home with mum and dad (more information on the book quantities).
Run by teachers, we pride ourselves in producing synthetic phonics books that cut no corners and leave no child behind in learning to read.
Why Get Reading Right Synthetic Phonics decodable books are so unique:
Fidelity is important in any synthetic phonics programme (which means no sound or rule is missed out – reading is not, and should not, be a guessing game). The books step, by step take children through all the sounds.
Spelling is core to a successful synthetic phonics approach. Get Reading Right decodable books teach children to spell every word they can read and produce wonderfully confident writers.
The books are designed for little hands and young minds; they are colourful, fun and small enough to give each child the pleasure of reading and the satisfaction of finishing real books.
Children read and not guess. No picture cues means there is no way out – they are going to have to read! And they do.
The experience of reading from day 1 gives children a real sense of accomplishment; making reading a rewarding and enjoyable activity.

How the Get Reading Right books work:
The books are published for the Letters and Sounds and the Playing with Sounds sequences.
They systematically use that week’s phonemes to read single words, all of which can be decoded.
They develop upon existing phoneme knowledge; each level introduces new phonemes and includes those phonemes already learnt.
They give children the skills to blend and segment words using the ‘Make and Break’ approach.
Each level also comes with a Camera Book to teach what the DfES calls irregular, high frequency words or tricky words (we don’t like to use this name as it implies ‘this isn’t going to be easy’ – lets start on a good footing!)
