The Playing with Sounds Series

The Get Reading Right Playing with Sounds series is 100% aligned to the UK Playing with Sounds phoneme sequence.

Series 1:
the first 29 phonemes from the Playing with Sounds sequence

To read their first words children must remember the first eight phonemes, and each of their representations, then successfully blend them together to read a word. It is demanding on a child. It is therefore crucial that there is rapid and early success so that children gain confidence from breaking the reading code. Four books for each group of eight phonemes means children get the much needed early practice to firmly embed the skills of blending and segmenting.

Each level also has a 'camera book' to reinforce the learning of 6 irregular, high frequency words.
