Take your first step towards giving your child the synthetic phonics advantage:
My child has not started to learn to read - you need to lay secure reading and spelling foundations and should start with set 1a
My child has started to learn to read and I want to ensure, at home, that they are mastering every skill -fill in the short checklist to see if they have any gaps in their knowledge.
My child has started to learn to read but is showing difficulties. These might be in:
- Weak knowledge of the sounds of the phonemes or incorrect pronunciation
- He/she is relying on their visual memory or guessing and not automatically trying to decode the words when reading
- He/she has been assessed and their reading age is below their actual age
